What Are The Differences Between A PhD In Chemistry And A Chemistry PhD Program?

What Are The Differences Between A PhD In Chemistry And A Chemistry PhD Program?Although there are a number of PhD programs in chemistry, a vast majority of chemists seek to obtain their doctorate degree through a more practical type of program known as a PhD program. Although these programs generally last between four and six years, they can be completed in as little as two years with several programs available that allow students to finish in less than a year. The most successful chemistry PhD programs use both theoretical and practical courses to help students get a strong understanding of the process of scientific research. Students spend many months studying under highly experienced professors who often supervise many other professors at the school. During their time in this environment, students learn what it takes to build a successful research laboratory, not to mention a great deal about scientific data analysis. One of the best ways to make a good impression upon your prospec tive graduate school is to choose the right advisor to guide you through your doctoral studies. Although every student has different needs, there are specific requirements for each particular science. For example, students in physics must have a solid background in general physics, or calculus, or experimental physics. In order to find out what kind of physics research field a student is interested in, he or she will be required to take a series of physics courses. By the time they graduate, they should be able to demonstrate mastery of physics in the form of a GPA of at least 3.00. For students who are interested in getting a PhD in chemistry, the only prerequisite would be an undergraduate physics degree. After a student has graduated from their PhD program, they will begin teaching. There are also several departments within universities that offer PhD programs in chemistry, and even a few that offer PhD programs in related fields. If you are interested in joining the faculty of one of these departments, you should discuss the job possibilities with your PhD adviser. As you can see, there are a number of differences between being a chemist and a PhD in chemistry. However, many students are also interested in pursuing the latter because of the higher pay that is usually associated with it. Many people prefer the time-consuming nature of a PhD program, but if you truly want to master all the aspects of chemistry, then you should look into a chemistry PhD program.Chemistry is one of the major branches of science that uses chemical researches and study of the nature of matter. It is an extremely important part of modern life, and it is something that all students should investigate in depth before they begin working in a research lab.

Should We Turn to Free Tutoring

Should We Turn to Free Tutoring Free Online Tutoring in the UK ChaptersThe Actors of Free Online TutoringPrivate tutoring through tutoring sitesFree Tutoring and Educational Support AssociationsFree Tutoring Resources: An Alternative to Private Tutors?Learning to read or succeeding in a test is not easy for everyone. It’s not infrequent for children to have difficulties in school. This is stressful for the teachers, but of course for the parents as well.Does this apply to you?Does your child have difficulty understanding the subject matter? Is doing their homework a constant struggle? What are the solutions?More and more parents are turning towards tutoring services and homework helpers. From elementary school to A-Levels, private tutors can help turn around a struggling student.Learning how to do revision, to improve and delve into the subject matter: these are the goals of any individualized tutoring classes. But among the various options - home tutoring, online tutoring, tutoring apps - there are a few that stand out to help students having di fficulties without spending too much money and allowing your child to progress.Whether free math tutoring, remedial science and engineering or help with chemistry homework - it’s up to you to find the formula that works best for your child.Free Tutoring and Educational Support AssociationsAnother option for those without a lot of money is tutoring associations for low-income families and various educational support programs at school and elsewhere.Sometimes, parents are unable to work with their children - either because they don’t have the education, or because their jobs don’t leave them the time - and can’t help them with their homework every day.Fortunately, there are volunteer associations dedicated to giving these children a chance. The homework helper doesn’t get paid - they are often retired teachers or academics working in the field who want to give back to the community by volunteering.After-school tutoring and library homework help sessionsSome schools offer an after-school tutoring program or homework sessions in-school, either with their own personnel or working with a tutoring association (see below.)Another place that offers homework help - often in homework sessions or study groups at a set time each day - are local libraries. They also serve as a resource centre for things such as ebooks or audiobooks on each subject. Check your local Council website for library locations and schools offering homework sessions to see if you can find a tutoring centre near you. Many libraries offer tutoring programs, making resources such as computers and documentation available to low-income children. Photo credit: City of Seattle Community Tech on Visual HuntNationwide tutoring programsThere are various associations and foundations dedicated to providing tutoring for children with learning difficulties or from underprivileged households. These are generally school programs who work with specific schools rather than from tutoring centres, giving on-th e-spot help in classrooms and offering one-on-one or small-group learning sessions after school to foster academic success. Some also offer to mentor children seeking to pursue an academic career, offering advice and career exploration, help with applications and encouragement. Some of them are:TutorFairThe Access ProjectAction TutoringHow Useful are Tutoring Apps for Extra School Support? It’s a fair question.Just as there are numerous learning websites, a number of apps have been developed to help children progress in various school subjects while having fun. It’s important to realise that smartphones are a common tool for today’s youth. They access them daily and, indeed, some teachers integrate apps and other smartphone tools into their classes. So why not turn to smartphone apps to help your child in school? Many of the apps are quite affordable, being either:Entirely freeFree for a certain amount of levels or without certain featuresCost under £5.00 for unlimited useThey hav e the advantage of speaking a language children respond to and capturing their attention with games and fun graphics.Education apps can help children master difficult concepts. Photo credit: flickingerbrad on VisualHunt.comCheck for those that have been developed not just by programmers and graphic designers, but with teachers as well. That way, you will have something user-friendly, with an engaging design that will also cover material relevant to your child’s classes, whether reading and writing, math and science. With such an incentive to learn, it’s obvious that apps are capable of helping children learn and improve their grades. However, they cannot replace lessons with a live person who can answer questions, see where your child’s weaknesses are and tailor their lessons to their individual needs. But they do offer courses accessible anywhere, anytime, with games and quizzes that will make learning fun. There are education apps for every level.Free Tutoring Resources: An Alt ernative to Private Tutors?Though educational websites and apps can definitely help your child improve their grades, are they enough for a student experiencing huge learning difficulties? One of the most important aspects of free tutoring, whether in live online classes, through revision websites or learning game apps, is that you have to organise yourself (or your child) properly. It’s important that parents follow what the child is doing, can track their progress and give them encouragement.Additionally, children are not often capable of imposing a learning rhythm on themselves. But it is proven that tutoring apps are only effective if they are used regularly and the child keeps at it.It’s important to find the right app - one that is adapted to the student and their needs - and set certain times aside, several times a week, to play and learn where the parent is available to answer questions and help with the exercises. The logical question, of course, is whether a physical tutor is even necessary for real progress to be made.It is.Deciding whether or not to get a private tutor is much more critical than it may appear at first.One-on-one tutoring is still the most effective way to help children with learning difficulties. Photo credit: US Department of Education on VisualhuntIndependent learning requires an amazing amount of discipline and autonomy. Having a teacher at hand is useful not just for motivation and to encourage certain learning habits, but also to give you feedback on your learning curve and to answer questions if need be. A teacher will guide their students depending on their needs and learning style and explain things in a different way if they don’t understand immediately. An app or website will present things in a certain way and not all children will respond to it.This doesn’t mean that websites and apps are useless. But they should be seen as a complementary tool to help stimulate the student and motivate them to learn trigonometry or geometry outside of any private tutoring lessons they might need.In short, free online tutoring - in writing, math/reading games; on YouTube, for engineering courses and quizzes or calculus 1 revision sheets are useful for students needing to bring up their grade a little, but who generally don’t have trouble learning. But if a specific subject - or all - is truly proving problematic for your child, choose one-on-one tutoring, whether a paid certified teacher through websites such as Superprof or a free volunteer-based program. The games and quizzes can still play a part in the learning process by motivating your child, but the real progress will be with their teacher.

Como é o caso do diálogo:    How are you?

Time Management for High School Students - Private Tutoring

Time Management for High School Students BobbiM Apr 8, 2013 There are a few age-old questions such as, What is the meaning of life? What happens after I die? Why do bad things happen to good people? Then, there are other types of questions that dont quite make the big questions of life category, but they are still pretty important. And, when youre in high school, often the small questions are the big  concerns. PS: Yes, the picture of a girl with hair on her face has nothing to do with high school time management. But dont you think its interesting? Yeah, me too. And so it is today. I asked my daughter, Kameron, to help me better understand what she does to stay on top of things as a freshman in high school. Below are her words and may they be helpful to you. High School Time Management Im only finishing my freshman year, but Ive seen enough of high school to understand that the greatest skill needed is how to efficiently manage your time. Making time fore homework and other activities is one thing, but getting the motication to do them is another. Here are some suggestions on how to develop the havit of managing your time. Get enough sleep. You nee your sleep to stay awake and be aware. Keep some sort of planner. This will help you keep track of things you need to get done and help you remember the homework for 1st period, seven periods later. This will also help you remember other activities in your life. Make the time to get things done. If you sis there in life waiting for an open slot of your time set aside for duties, youll never get those done. Make time for these things and stick to the times, getting as much done as you can. Put distractions away. Is it homework time? Put your phone away, keep the television off, dont even eat until youve finished what is to get done during this time. By following these simple steps you will quickly develop a habit of getting things done and managing your time. Be prepared to feel proud of yourself when everything is done and there is time left in the day to play.

GCSE results out today! Congratulations your hard work has finally paid off

GCSE results out today! Congratulations your hard work has finally paid off The long wait is over for the 500,000 students in England, Wales and Northern Ireland waiting to hear their GCSE results. We hope all that hard work has finally paid off and you can now make clear decisions about where you go from here. Figures out today reveal a mixed picture as schools and teachers have had to deal with extensive exam reforms this past year. Overall though students achieving grade C or better at GCSE increased for the first time in three years. Student getting at least a grade C or higher in Maths has gone up slightly. Those getting an A* increased from 4.9% to 5.4%, while those students receiving an A* or A increased from 14.3% to 15.2%. Although the percentage of students that achieved a C or higher at English was slightly lower this year, those getting an A* increased from 3.3% last year to 3.6% and those students getting an A* or an A increased from 14.2% to 14.3%. There was also significant increases in those achieving a C or higher in science. There is a 6% increase on last years figures although those students achieving an A* remains static at 1.4%. We wish all our students, and of course all those parents that have been anxiously biting their nails the past few months, the very best for the future and would love to hear your good news stories and what you intend to do next.

Trump Empire The Conflict Of Interest

Trump Empire The Conflict Of Interest by Gage Skidmore via Flickr.com Many of those who intend to vote for Mr. Trump cite his business experience as a major source of confidence in his ability to take on the role of President of the United States. They believe that Trump can renegotiate the trade agreements like TPP and NAFTA that he criticizes, that because he knows the ins and outs of dirty-money politics in America, he is the only one who can stop it. They frown upon Clinton for being one of these dirty politicians. Yet, what fails to be recognized is the other side of the coin: if Hillary Clinton is too tied into big money, Trump is the big money (and its in his interest to keep it that way). In fact, he contributed to her political campaign in 2008 (Washington Examiner). He now claims that he contributed for business reasons. Presumably, if Trump were to step up to the plate in 2017, he would still have at least a finger in, if not a firm grip on, the family business, and that means his interests wouldnt suddenly be reoriented to those of the workingman. In fact, whats to stop Donald Trump, a man whos been fighting for his business his entire life, from enacting law to specifically favor that very same Trump business? Donald Trump admits to making political donations to fodder friendly political winds now hes simply cutting out the middle man. He has taken full advantage of the devaluation of currency in China and Mexico that he complains about by setting up his factories there. To make the same profit margins he does now with factories in the United States, domestic factory workers would have to work for virtual slave wages (about a tenth of what the average factory worker makes now if he wanted to be on par with China) (Huffington Post). Trump has played the system at every junction, so why would he want to affect change that would take away the advantage he already has as a very wealthy man? by Sharon McKellar via Flickr.com Another disturbing fact is that when given the opportunity, Donald Trump bankrupted his casinos four times. The bill fell on his investors and business partners while he collected millions of dollars in salary, bonuses and other payments(NY Times). He made blatantly irresponsible business decisions, acquiring loans with unsustainable interest rates and acquiring outrageous debts. Take for example his touted project the Taj, on which the debt exceeded 820 million. The failure of this casino gets lumped into the bankruptcies of a number of New Jersey casinos, however, the Taj was barely afloat years before the others went under. Even before its opening it would have needed to gross an unprecedented 1.3 million a day in revenue just to make its interest payments. Yet, Trump doesnt seem to regret any of these decisions; in fact, he  brags about them, and frequently talks about how much profit he made. He never seems to mention the small companies he destroyed by failing to pay, or the employees he left on a sinking ship. Which begs the question: Whose side will he be on when the going gets tough? His countrys or his own?

Top ACT Tricks To Improve Your Score

Top ACT Tricks To Improve Your Score If you are studying for the ACT or SAT, you already know that there are tons of resources out there (both paid and free) to help you practice section-specific questions that you may see on testing day. I would know. I write a lot of these guides  for a living. A question that I often see students asking in comments or on chats is how to improve their score. They dont understand how theyve  tested lower than expected and are concerned that their composite score will not be high enough to get into the school of their dreams. As a result to these queries, this article is not set up to be another section-specific studying resource, because hopefully you are already following a structured studying outline either on your own or with professional assistance. Instead, Im offering  an actionable set of proven strategies and tips that will help you improve your score  effectively and efficiently in addition to a structured studying plan. #1 Locate  Your  Specific Weaknesses With Practice Tests To study efficiently, it’s imperative to take a timed practice test at least once to show you where your weaknesses are, focusing on these weaknesses, and creating a strategy to improve upon them.   A key to taking practice tests is to mimic testing day conditions and try to imagine what it will feel like on the actual day of the test.  Take the test on the same day and time of your registered ACT test. Use the answer sheet that comes with the practice test and time yourself, finishing all sections of the ACT. What you’ll realize with taking practice tests  is that it’s a marathon. You must learn what it feels like taking almost 4 hours-worth of an exam at one time and having mental endurance to follow through. In addition to building up this mental endurance, youll also feel more at ease when testing day arrives because it doesnt feel as new and will help get rid of some of the butterflies. Once you have finished taking the exam, youll need to grade your test to figure out your raw score using the answer key provided. Tally your section scores as well as the composite score. Now you will be able to have a look at what sections you excel in and what sections will require the most amount of attention to see greater improvements in your score. In each section, make note of the types of questions you are consistently getting incorrect. Do you notice you have trouble understanding the main point of the article in Reading or struggle on “if-then” statements in Math?  This is the best time to notice these trending errors and seek specific resources to correct these inaccuracies. If you are looking for where to start, here are some free official ACT practice tests that you can download and take at your convenience: ACT Practice Test 2015-2016 (Form 72CPRE) ACT Practice Test 2014-15 (Form 67C) ACT Practice Test 2011-12 (Form 64E) ACT Practice Test 2008-09 (Form 61C) ACT Practice Test 2005-06 (Form 59F) #2 Learn To Spot Incorrect Answers Quickly The ACT is written to purposely confuse you with its answers. But the good news is, when you are taking the ACT there is always one indisputably correct answer and the other 4 answer choices are indisputably wrong. What does that mean for you? Well, this means as long as you learn the strategy behind choosing the right answer, you will know the others are 100% incorrect and not need to second-guess your answer choice. How do you eliminate incorrect answers? Here are some tips to help eliminate incorrect answers quickly: -Look for extreme modifiers (always, never, only, no one, the best, the worst). Most of the time, these words are too absolute to be the correct answer. -Look for thoughts that were never mentioned before. If a new idea or topic was brought up, it’s generally not correct. -Look for two answers that seem to be the same. Because there is only one correct answer, these two must both be incorrect. #3 Save  The Hardest Questions For Last The worst thing you can do on test day is to get tripped up on a difficult question as soon as you start. This is bad for your confidence and is also a major time-waster when there are  plenty of other easier questions that you could answer quickly and, most importantly, correctly. Learn to be honest with yourself and skip over a question that seems hard. #4  When In Doubt, Guess! There is no penalty for guessing incorrectly on the ACT. But there is certainly a strategy to guessing. Before taking the test, choose the letter you will fill in for every single question you guess on. The ACT answer choices are completely random, but you may be surprised to hear that if you were to choose “random” answer bubbles for each question, your guesses are not always as random. Those who guess with the same letter have a higher percentage of correct guesses than those who do not designate a guessing letter. Similarly, make a small mark next to each question you guess on so that if you have time at the end, you can quickly find them and spend some more time on these questions. But whatever mark you have made, be sure to erase before the time is up. Taking note of these tips is not an exhaustive list to studying for the ACT but rather a set of pointers that, when used in conjunction with well-structured test preparation like Quesbooks free ACT prep, should help you to achieve an improved score quickly. Good luck!

Online Journals for Organic Chemistry

Online Journals for Organic ChemistryThere are many good online journals for Organic Chemistry. The great thing about these online journals is that the articles can be downloaded to your personal computer and printed, posted to your website, or saved to a hard copy. They are also great if you don't have the time to read books on organic chemistry. Many of these online journals feature articles on topics like; novel chemical structures, new applications of organic synthesis, materials with more than one role in organic chemistry, dissolving/reducing systems, molecular models, crystal chemistry, and practical applications. There are two different types of journals for organic chemistry. They are the open access journals and the subscription journals. With the open-access journals, the authors are able to freely publish their research as long as they keep it confidential. Since their articles are publicly available, the open access journals typically have much better editing and formatti ng guidelines than the subscription journals. That's because the subscription journals typically require the author to pay the publication fees.Because of the openness of open access journals, the authors usually have very little or no payment. Of course there are always some publishing fees when the research is published, but if you don't have a large enough budget to pay for a single article, these journals are a great option. The content in most of these journals is very dry writing. Not all journals have this problem, however. The only problem with these journals is that they sometimes require a high education to read and understand the content. There are many subscription journals that provide comprehensive and in depth information about organic chemistry. These subscriptions usually cost a few hundred dollars per year. You will need to purchase one or more electronic databases for each journal in order to access their contents. The subscription fees can vary greatly depending o n the journal. One of the most common subscription journals is the Journal of Organic Chemistry. There are many other online journals for organic chemistry. For example, the Journal of Molecular Structure and Computation is an open access journal that offers information on electronic devices, computer simulation, and the properties of materials. Another popular subscription journal is the Journal of Molecular Spectroscopy, which has articles in physics, and has many more journals that are very focused on one subject.Science Journals is another resource for chemistry information. There are many different ones that provide organic chemistry information for people who are interested in studying chemistry but do not have a college education in chemistry. These publications offer some of the best information on chemistry out there. Most of these journals are peer reviewed, but there are some that are not. There are many more places where you can find information on Chemistry and beyond on the Internet. All you need to do is look at what else is out there. If you are able to connect with other chemists, that would be a great way to share ideas. Keep in mind that finding the most knowledge in the field of chemistry is quite important and what you learn from others can help you progress in your career and take your skills and knowledge to the next level.
